Welcome to Moon Hollow…
We are a 25-acre hill farm in north Mississippi where change seems to be the only constant. Conveniently located just minutes from I-55, 45 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee and 30 miles west of Oxford, Mississippi, Moon Hollow nonetheless feels miles away from the bustle of everyday life.
Purchased in 2006 by small-farm keeper and writer Karen Ott Mayer, Moon Hollow has evolved after years of renovations to the farm, the Country House, and the land. A delightful refuge and welcome change to the ordinary.
“I feel a natural inclination to retirement and the country; it was impossible for me to live happily elsewhere.”Jean-Jacques Rousseau
Karen and Kole.
Having lived in rural northern California, rural Missouri, and France in her lifetime, rustic landscapes have played a large part in Karen’s life. Raised in suburbia, then schooled in D.C., Karen feels most at home among her flock of chickens, in the kitchen or woods, and welcoming farm visitors.
Raised on a cattle ranch in the very top corner of northeast, Arkansas, Kole loves any Oak tree, making homemade biscuits, wood working and his cast iron collection.
